We waved a fond farewell to our work experience students last week. Will, from Waddesdon C of E School, was with us for five consecutive Thursdays, working with the sales and marketing team. Will wants to work in graphics so we asked him to design a logo for one of our products to show that no pens should be used on this worksurface; we needed a visual device that didn’t require any words so it could be used anywhere in the world. Will also helped update our website, editing pictures, creating new pages and adding copy. He helped devise a series of images for our email marketing activity announcing the countdown to the last order date for summer deliveries. And (just to make sure he wasn’t having too much fun) we took him along to a meeting with some colleagues over at RM about a new joint marketing initiative we had planned.
Lawson, from Icknield Community College, joined us for a week, working with the design team creating renders and visuals of different room layouts. He was tasked with creating 3d images of rooms and populating them with different furniture layouts to illustrate the look and feel of different designs. These roomset images help clients visualise how their room will look and how the space will work as well as demonstrating the various layouts achievable with agile, mobile furniture.
So a big ‘thank you’ to Will and Lawson for a job well done. I hope we didn’t work you too hard and that your week with Isis helped give you an insight into working life (although, you should know, not everyone is as nice as us..).
